[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Shaine Rozman (@shainerozz), a Lagree Instructor at Urban Lagree.

WellcommATX: Where do you work…out?

Shaine Rozman: I’m an instructor at Urban Lagree, which is also where I get the majority of my workouts in, usually four to five classes a week. I love the method because it’s a killer form of resistance training that doesn’t rely on traditional weights. Instead, we use spring-loaded tension and focus on "time under tension" to target those smaller stabilizing muscles that often get overlooked in other workouts. To balance that strength training, I also go to yoga at Sukha. It’s my go-to for stretching, resetting, and staying mentally grounded. And when I need to clear my head, you’ll find me on the trail for a walk!

WATX: What does “wellness” mean to you?

SR: To me, wellness is a balance of both discipline and flexibility. Of course, it means prioritizing sleep, daily movement, and nourishing my body with the right foods—but it’s also about connection, fun, and being kind to myself. I’ve definitely experienced "discipline fatigue" in the past, where I go all-in on clean eating and structured workouts, only to burn out and swing the other way. Now, I focus on sustainability. That means leaving room for spontaneous late nights and quality time with the people I love, without guilt. True wellness, in my book, is about feeling good consistently, not perfectly.

WATX: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?

SR: My main goal this year is to build more cardio into my routine. Right now I mostly do Lagree, yoga, and walks. But I’d love to start running more regularly, with the long-term goal of running a marathon. Also, as a realtor, no two days look the same, so I’m working on creating a weekly structure that still allows for flexibility but helps me feel more grounded in my schedule.

WATX: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?

SR: My biggest inspiration is my mom, Ellen Rozman (@ellenrozman). She’s the reason wellness is such a big part of my life: she’s modeled healthy habits, movement, and mindfulness for as long as I can remember. She also teaches Lagree at Urban Lagree and is the one who first introduced me to the method. Her consistency and intentionality are what keep me going.

WATX: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?

SR: Start with what you enjoy. Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated or extreme. Whether it’s making a nourishing (and still fun!) meal, going on a walk with a friend, or doing a face mask—there are so many ways to take care of yourself. The key is to find what feels good for you and build from there.

WATX Note: You can catch this mother-daughter duo of Shaine Rozman (@shainerozz) and Ellen Rozman (@ellenrozman) for a special Mother’s Day Team Teach on Sunday, May 11th at Urban Lagree’s Rosedale studio. More info forthcoming from the studio, but you’ll be able to sign up here.

[SUBSCRIBER TIP] Huge thanks to WellcommATX subscriber Rachel Blanton (@r_blanton) for tipping us off to another studio we need to check out, GRIP Fitness for Longevity. From Rachel: “These instructors, especially Mason Slack (@slackmason) and Kerri Keegan (@kerrikeegan), are awesome! Great energy, so helpful, and welcoming to newbies. Very much a ‘work hard, have fun’ kind of vibe.” [HT Daniel J Treveino (@danieljtrevino) and Video Doods for the killer vid]

[GREAT NEWS] Congrats to one of ATX’s best, Tasha Bates (@tasha bates), an Instructor at Barry’s and RIDE Indoor Cycling, who recently got engaged! Give her a shoutout when you see her in the Red Room or when you’re on your bike, and be sure to check out that beautiful ring in person.

[NEW INSTRUCTORS] It’s a new month, and with the arrival of May, Homebody Studios welcomes two new instructors, Caroline Wolf (@carebillionaire) and Miranda Munoz (@mirandamunoz_). They join the growing team at this hot (literally) studio for Reformer and Hot Mat Pilates led by Sophie Axelson (@sophieaxelson) and Anna Noelle Rinke (@annanoellerinke).

[STUDIO TIP] We were already hearing about Grit ATX out in the wild at pickleball league, but this video has us even more excited to check it out. FULLCIRCLE Social Club said what was already on our mind: that a tough, fun workout is the “New Happy Hour,” so we’re looking forward to more of their tips from Community Lead Dani Smith (@party__danimal) and her crew soon!
