A MESSAGE FROM PIQUE:
Dry January Just Got Way More Delicious and Uplifting 🍸✨
January doesn’t have to feel dull or restrictive. It’s a chance to reset, feel amazing, and still enjoy the ritual of a great drink. Enter Vesper, Pique’s newest release—and my favorite upgrade to Dry January.
Pique is known for blending ancient botanicals with modern science to create elevated wellness essentials, and Vesper is no exception. This non-alcoholic, adaptogenic aperitif delivers the relaxed, social glow of a cocktail—without alcohol or the next-day regret.
It’s what I reach for when I want something special in my glass. Each sip feels celebratory and calming, with a gentle mood lift, relaxed body, and clear, present mind. No haze. No sleep disruption. Just smooth, grounded ease.
Crafted with L-theanine, lemon balm, gentian root, damiana, and elderflower, Vesper is sparkling, tart, and beautifully herbaceous—truly crave-worthy.
Dry January isn’t about giving things up. It’s about discovering something better. And Vesper makes every pour feel like a yes.
[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Alexa White, a Pilates teacher in Austin, TX.
WellcommATX: Where do you work…out?
Alexa White: Ritual Moves and Club Pilates Southpark Meadows and Club Pilates William Cannon.
WATX: What does wellness mean to you?
AW: Wellness is the ability to care for my mind and body. I try to listen to what my body is asking for and provide consistency so it knows that I will work to care for it as much as it cares for me.
WATX: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?
AW: My wellness goals are to take more time to feed my own daily practice and try a new modality. I have been wanting to try aerial or the Lyra hoop!
WATX: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?
AW: My father, who is retired military and has shown me how important consistency is, inspires me. The clients who I teach and workout with are also a huge motivation for me. I love seeing how dedicated and excited they are to move their bodies, try new things, learn the practice, and find a community. Another person who inspires me is Kati Villavicencio because she has encouraged me to tap into a different part of teaching that feels more authentic and vulnerable.
WATX: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?
AW: Find something that makes you feel good and is fun: don’t just do it for aesthetics.
[BONUS HIGH FIVE] In our WellcommDC edition that covers the Washington, DC area, we gave a High Five to Alex Marsh, an Instructor at F45 Training Vienna VA in Vienna, VA and Zweet Sport in Alexandria, VA.
WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?
Alex Marsh: I usually split my workouts between a few places! I try to squeeze in classes at F45 Training Vienna VA and at Zweet Sport when I'm not coaching. You can also catch me lifting at Life Time Clarendon or running on the trails in Arlington, VA and Washington, DC. I also love working out with my friends, so I'm always happy to join friends for a new class or new studio!
WDC: What does wellness mean to you?
AM: Wellness is about finding balance and creative ways to stay healthy and moving, even when things get hectic! When I start to get busy, it's really easy to fall into unhealthier habits like ordering takeout instead of cooking, scrolling on my phone before bed, or not moving enough. I try to maintain a healthier routine as much as I can and squeeze in workouts when I can. For example, I started running to Trader Joe's for my grocery runs: this fits a run into my schedule naturally, and I buy healthy and easy-to-make food for the week. I also make sure to read every night before bed instead of looking at my phone. Small changes help me balance work and life and stay healthy!
WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?
AM: In the next year, I want to do five pull ups, a 300 pound deadlift, and a 1:50 half marathon!
WDC: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?
AM: Seeing people, especially women, lift heavy always inspires me to try something new. Some weights don't even seem possible until you see someone do it, so I'm always grateful for my fitness communities! Amy Kayser is my biggest accountability buddy in the fitness world. We lift and run together, and it is so much easier to get up early to work out when you've made it a "plan" with a friend. Jack Burke has taught me a ton and made me a better coach and personal trainer. Christine Brinson and Amy Boers at F45 Training Vienna VA and Marja Toan at Zweet Sport have been fantastic and supportive leaders.
WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?
AM: My biggest advice is to find something that you enjoy doing! It's so much easier to add something to your routine when you enjoy it. There are so many ways to be active, so if something doesn't connect with you, don't force it! Find something else that is more fun!
