[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Victoria Handy, a Fitness Instructor at S2 Fitness Studio in Round Rock, TX.

WellcommATX: Where do you work…out?

Victoria Handy: I teach at S2 Fitness Studio in Round Rock. I specifically teach group fitness classes on the Versaclimber. It's a rhythm based cardio strength class, and it’s so fun. It's the best cardio on the market and only 30 minutes. I love getting my own workouts in at S2 by taking other instructor's classes, but I also love taking classes around town. One of my favorite classes to take outside of S2 is Barry's. The vibe there is truly immaculate.

WATX: What does wellness mean to you?

VH: Wellness is about feeling the best I can: mentally, physically, and emotionally. It’s not just about working out, but what you put into your body, how you talk to yourself, how you show up for others, and the habits you choose daily. It’s movement, nourishment, rest, and treating yourself when needed. I'm not super strict with myself when it comes to wellness. To me, it's a tool to help improve my life and manage stress so that I can show up in my daily life the best I can, not to restrict myself.

WATX: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?

VH: I’m working toward getting certified in Pilates, improving my strength and endurance, and staying consistent with mindful habits like hydrating, stretching, and journaling. I want to lead by example for my clients and community by showing that discipline and self-compassion can coexist.

WATX: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?

VH: My community! I started teaching two years ago, and I’ll never forget the people who took a chance on me and showed up for my classes: Loui Pacheco, who trained me and never gave up on me; incredible instructors like Ilene Coffee, Brittany Peralta, Raven Gabriel, Pia Beck, and Haley Collings, who continue to motivate and inspire me; and clients who became family like Brenda Puapuaga and Valeria Sanchez, who remind me every day of why I love what I do.

WATX: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?

VH: Start small and stay consistent. You don’t have to overhaul your life: just pick one habit, and do it daily. And find something you genuinely enjoy. Wellness isn’t about perfection and shouldn't be a punishment; it’s about showing up even when motivation isn’t there. Give yourself grace, and remember that progress is still progress, no matter the pace.
